Events & New Market Growth Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our expanding Sales & Marketing team in London.

A considerable part of our success to date has been through first-class face-to-face contacts with our potential partner universities through events. You’ll take this to the next level by owning this go-to-market channel by planning and executing private events, conferences and networking meetups to fly the flag for Unibuddy and raise our profile across higher education and beyond.

This will require you to know our current markets and assess new potential markets, and thus we’ll be looking for you to lead on developing our market research to underpin all aspects of our go-to-market planning and delivery in these new markets through events – while doing the appropriate networking for a successful entry.

Key Responsibilities

Events growth

You’ll lead on planning and delivering high profile private events and conferences to create new leads, establish new relationships, and build our relationships with our partners – all leading to the growth of our business. In planning and delivering these you’ll:

  • Find and schedule the best conferences to match our market planning, seeking out the best opportunities for sponsorship and the best occasions for us to share our leadership and insights for peer-to-peer.
  • Plan and oversee each event to the last detail, so we maximise our opportunities, including pre-event promotions, at-event lead collection, and post-event follow-up.
  • Deliver high key profile Unibuddy events, including annual partner Summit and Expo – source the best external partners and speakers to increase our leading position in the HE Market.
  • Lead on (and support the Sales team with) the delivery and arrangements for a series of in-country breakfast meetings and briefings – leading to new deals with new partners.

New Market growth

You’ll undertake market research, and prepare and present go-to-market plans for the Sales and Market teams including:

  • Detailed desk-research on potential markets, by country, region, or institution-type to identify the future ‘best-fit’ markets for the Unibuddy platform.
  • Analysis of these markets, leading to an in-depth understanding of each potential market, the opportunities for Unibuddy and the motivations of individual stakeholders in the market.
  • Developed proposals for go-to-market strategies for each market through key events and partnerships.

Key Benefits

  • Free events, amenities and networking opportunities from our WeWork Old Street membership
  • Flexible working options including work-from-home culture.
  • Personal development plan budget to achieve your yearly personal mission
  • 25 days paid holiday with a pension scheme and stock options
  • Monthly team social events and quarterly company days away.

Company Overview

We believe that Higher Education has the power to transform lives. It’s a melting pot of cultures, experience, knowledge and passion that creates an invaluable life experience. It’s a tricky journey to navigate through. There are many types of institutions and courses, and it’s crucial for students to find the right path for them.

A team of ambitious graduates, former HE professionals and talented developers, we gave ourselves the mission to empower every student to find where they belong through shared experiences, effortless technology and the smart application of data.

Together, we bring institutions easy-to-deploy tech, and first-hand experience on how to impact students’ lives while increasing their recruitment and retention of best-fit students. A simple widget on their website allows future and current students to chat and foster a sense of belonging – even before applying.

Venture-backed by the earliest investors in Zoom, Deliveroo, founders of Logitech, and supported by Strategic Advisors from the biggest HE governmental entities, we’re overgrowing. Since launching 24 months ago we’ve expanded to work with over 150 institutions in 20+ countries and 4 continents across the world. Be part of a team that pushes boundaries even further and continues to provide expert support for partners, as well as making a difference for students.
